Theres no doubt web 2.0 is on the rise and becoming the norm of todays interactive technology. Even the US Navy endorses the use of Web 2.0 tools to improve communication and collaboration, according to a policy memo written by Robert Carey, the Navys chief information officer. Some of the tools the Navy sees a value in are blogs, wikis and data feeds which can give troops access to instant information from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. Collaborating and sharing information are an excellent way to stay in direct communication and to work on projects for business owners and say.....the military. According to the Navys chief info officer, Commands are encouraged to use Web 2.0 tools while still following existing regulations and policies. Information sharing is what web 2.0 is all about. Spreading info effectively like weve never seen before. Web 2.0 is the future. Its basically open and social. Its about letting the global world access the local world. Its about new interfaces, new ways of searching and accessing web content. Its a platform to build upon, not just for programming and web design companies such as RT Design Group, but its also for educating people, its for the media, community, connection, politics and its for everybody. Look at our education arena today. The education community is all about the Web these days also. They arent only starting to use the tools of web 2.0 such as data feeds, podcasts, blogs, wikis, media streams, etc. they’re also connecting to a new generation of kids who are growing up on the web......the digital kids.....its becoming second nature to them. The hardest part is now educators have to find a way to learn and teach web competence. Educators have to converse and collaborate with their students using web tools and help children make sense of the vast amounts of information and media that surround us.Its all about the future. Its all about the people. Brian LidgardRT Design Group, LLC.www.rtdesigngroup.com
